In 1930's rural Nova Scotia, Maud Dowley (Sally Hawkins), who suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, is regarded as a stupid, incapable woman; a view held by her brother Charlie and her Aunt Ida. Maud seeks independence, and is the only applicant for a job as housekeeper for poor brusque fish seller Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke). Through their antagonistic and often violent relationship, Maud keeps herself happy by painting pictures on the interior of the house and also on small cards. These paintings come to the attention of a New York socialite, who ultimately commissions Maud to paint some pictures for her to sell in the city, leading to international fame from her small shack.

Please note; A limited number of guest tickets for films are available in advance online or from the box office. If the advance tickets sell out, more tickets may be available on the door on the day.
