The Athenaeum Centre is home to:

The Athenaeum Masqueraders who regularly put on amateur productions.

The Warminster & District Film Society bringing quality presentations to the local community (see ourFilm Society page for more information).

The Warminster Philatelic Society If you collect stamps or postcards and would like to learn more about them, how to mount them, or where to find more to fill those elusive gaps, then come along to one of the Warminster Philatelic Society meetings and find out more.

We meet in the Athenaeum on the second and fourth Tuesday in each month from September to May. Our meetings start at 7:45pm and generally finish by 9:30pm with a break for coffee in between. Membership costs just £5 for the year.

The Rainbow Pre-school Learning Centre Learning through play for 2 to 5 year olds. Meet Mornings - Monday to Friday (school term time) 9 am - 12 noon. Contact: Mrs B Glasson Tel: 01985 219161.

Kumon Study Centre A year round Kumon programme where children develop confidence, discipline and study study skills in Mathematics and English that last them a lifetime.

Thai Chi A gentle form of exercise originating in China about 400 years ago. Improves concentration, energy, relaxation, muscle tone, subtleness, breathing and circulation.

Classes include: Warm up to stretch muscles and joints, Qigong exercises for energy and relaxation, Tai chi form Yang style.

As Tai Chi is practised slowly, no oxygen builds up during practice so it is considered suitable for people of all ages including those who suffer chronic illness, such as high blood pressure. Practised regularly the exercises can strengthen the circulatory and respiratory system. Tai Chi can be beneficial for people suffering from insomnia, anxiety and depression.

Linda Blake has practised Tai Chi since 1995, has passed her Tai Chi coaching certificate and taught in Warminster since 2005. She is a qualified therapist in Indian Head Massage, reflexology and Swedish massage.

Slimming World All year round Healthy Eating Programme. Meets Thursdays 9 am - 1 pm and Wednesday Evenings from 7 pm. Contact: Fran Pearson 01985 213440.

Limelight Productions Resident amateur drama company presenting performances of classics, straight plays and comedies.
