An exhibition by local historian and enthusiast James Kirkwood, displaying items about the military use of Salisbury Plain from 1897 to present day, items include: deactivated firearms, munitions, maps, photos, written words, posters, certain bits of uniform kit and much more.

James has been fascinated by the topic for many years and is a friend and helper of St Giles Church – Imber, and can normally be seen welcoming folk to the annual Remembrance Service held at the church.

But on this occasion he indulges in his passion of the wider military use of Salisbury Plain.

The display will be in the Gallery Room of the Athenaeum.
