The Athenaeum Centre
Wiltshire’s oldest working theatre. Built in 1857, The Athenæum is a fine grade II listed building at the heart of the historic market town of Warminster. The Athenæum has a long and colourful history of use from a literary institution, lecture hall, theatre, to a cinema and now a vibrant centre for the community. It hosts a diverse range of community groups, classes and activities within its many rooms. The Centre is held in Trust by and for the people of Warminster and is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers.
Ground floor: Ground floor rooms and corridors, including the auditorium, are accessible to wheelchair users.
First floor: The Function room and bar are accessible to wheelchair users by way of the lift.
The Balcony / The Studio/ The Close Centre: There is currently no wheelchair access to these areas.

We currently have Wi-fi connectivity within the ground floor Meeting Room / Gallery and upstairs Function Room, but no coverage in the Auditorium, backstage, Studio or Close Centre.

The Athenæum is situated on the High Street in Warminster, close to the Warminster Civic Centre car park (Parking charges apply).

There is a pedestrian walkway leading to the zebra crossing on the High Street opposite the Athenæum.
